I feel as though I have been creating art all my life…in many mediums, with many methods, through many influences. Several years ago, however, I decided to focus almost exclusively on painting in oil.
My vast training over the years focused on blending naturalistic and impressionistic styles, which is evident in my work today. To further sharpen my skills I began discovering what was in my backyard, the Rockies, and by working directly from nature I found my inspiration. This is where my unique style began to emerge.
To continue my growth as an artist I traveled throughout Europe. My inspiration especially grew when I visited the bright colorful surroundings of Spain and France, and the hidden mountain villages of Switzerland.
Never a very timid painter, I have always had a keen sense of design and a bold use of color. My paintings have a similar signature. Light, color, and form, are the three aspects I strive to capture and experiment with. The possibilities are endless, from grand views to the fascinating mini-cosmos of a still-life. To paint is to challenge myself to learn more and to do better…it is to constantly work on the front edge of my abilities and to conquer new territories.

I have found that I am a colorist who celebrates the subtle, natural beauty of ordinary scenes in a way that is both intense and dramatic. Loving color, design and expression is what makes my paintings so full of life. My oil paintings are done on large canvases and I have a diverse portfolio…from brilliant landscapes and contemporary portraits to expressionistic flowers.
Painting connects me to the world and allows me to express myself and translate what I see and feel onto canvas. As the artist puts it, I have been blessed with a "passion for creation."
My distinctive oil paintings can now be found in many corporate and private home collections around the country. My home and studio are now located in Chicago, where I welcome inquiries concerning the purchase of paintings in galleries, stock and commissioned pieces.
